Mojo Village, 3 August 2024 – Mojo Village, 3 August 2024 – A unique and innovative educational initiative was implemented by Ahmad Falah Muttaqin, a student of the Applied Foreign Language Study Program from the Vocational School, Diponegoro University, in managing marine waste. This program is part of Diponegoro University’s Team II KKN Monodisciplinary Work Program 2023/2024 which aims to improve the community’s understanding of marine waste management, especially shellfish waste which is commonly found at the Mojo Village TPI.

The student, who is familiarly called Falah, realized the serious potential problems faced by Mojo Village. The large amount of shellfish waste that accumulates without proper management not only disturbs the cleanliness of the environment but also threatens the welfare of the local ecosystem. To address this problem, Falah, an Applied Foreign Language student with a concentration in English, created a bilingual educational song that focuses on the importance of marine waste management.

The counseling and song delivery event was attended by various members of the Mojo Village community, including the Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS), ecoprint batik artisans, and local IPNU/IPPNU youth. Taking place at Posyandu Matahari in Mojo Village, the event was expected to provide a better understanding of how marine waste can be effectively managed.

Through a bilingual song, Falah hopes that this educational message can reach more people and foster awareness and real action in marine waste management. The song not only provides information, but also invites listeners to care more about the environment and take an active role in preserving the nature around them.

This initiative is a small but significant step in addressing the environmental challenges that exist in Mojo Village. With support from various parties and increasing public awareness, Falah is confident that Mojo Village can become an example for other areas in terms of sustainable marine waste management.
