In the second semester of 2024, the Applied Foreign Language (AFL) study program was flooded with student achievements. Two students from this study program, Ridha Aninda Restu and Silvana Adelia Maharani brought home titles in 2 national championships of martial arts.

Both Ridha and Silvana are Applied Foreign Language Study Program students who are in their 5th semester in English stream. However, both won titles in different championships. Ridha won 2nd place in the Women’s Senior Group Achievement Poomsae in the Grade-C UGM Taekwondo Championship (UGMTC) 2024. The championship was held at GOR Pancasila UGM on 10-11 August, 2024.

Silvana won 2nd place in the Women’s Battle D Class at the Semarang National Pencak Silat Championship 2024. This competition was held at Gelora USM (University of Semarang) on 20-22 December, 2024. In this championship, Silvana competed as part of the Undip’s Tapak Suci Student Club contingent.

Student achievements in the non-academic field are something to be proud of. Their ability to manage time and energy for academics and competition preparation is something that deserves thumbs up. The achievements of this duo are expected to inspire other students to continue to excel in both academic and non-academic fields.
