Applied Foreign Language students dazzles the Auditorium Imam Barjo audience through Shoran Bushi dance performance on Sunday, May 28 2023. The traditional Japanese dance performance was the closing performance for the Food Festival: Entrepreneurship & Edufest.

The voluntary dancer squad consisted of students of Applied Foreign Language program different batches, ranging from 1st year to final year students. They did the incentive training several weeks before the Food Festival. The exercise was led by Shakira Diva Dovendra Maretazanetti, an Applied Foreign Language student who is a dance studio trainer and has a myriad of achievements in the field of contemporary dance.

Shoran Bushi dance is a traditional Japanese dance featuring beautiful wave movements. The dance performed by the student team is not only Shoran Bushi, but also a contemporary dance with reference to K-pop dance. The atmosphere of the Imam Barjo Auditorium turned lively when the squad performed on stage.

The Applied Foreign Language study program was honored to appear as a closing performance in enlivening the Food Festival. Specifically, the study program was asked by the event organizer to perform Japanese traditional dance. This designation aligns with the content of Applied Foreign Language learning which includes Japanese culture. This activity is a platform for the students to showcase their non-academic talent.
