The Applied Foreign Language Students’ Association was awarded as the Most Eco-Friendly Entrepreneurs at the 2023 Food Festival: Entrepreneurship & Edufest. The inauguration took place one the last day of the Food Festival which took place at the Undip Imam Barjo Pleburan Auditorium on Sunday, 28 May 2023.
The Most Eco-Friendly Entrepreneurs is awarded to a student booth that shows concern for the environment. The judges assessed this from several aspects, including the way food is served, food packaging, cleanliness of food and booths, and the amount of waste generated from the business itself. Fitra Aulia representing the students’ association received a certificate handed over by the Vice Dean 2 of the Undip Vocational College, Dr. Eng. Vita Paramita.
This award is one of the Milestones for the students’ association in working in the field of entrepreneurship. They participated in the national business competition which was part of the Food Festival. The culinary business run by the student group served, among others, fruit sando, pancakes and star fruit ice. The menu was targeted to show the identity of Applied Foreign Language which focuses on learning Japanese and English.
Student participation paid off because of the solid team work. The management and members of the students’ association worked together in running the culinary business in this Food Festival. Moreover, the planning and hard work of the team members contributed to this win.
