Diponegoro University with the Vocational School of Applied Foreign Language Study Program collaborates with PT. JIPA which offers many internship programs for UNDIP students to try to enter the world of work in Japan, through this program students get the opportunity to take part in direct training in Japan. One of the internship programs provided by PT. JIPA is an Internship in the hospitality sector at the Route Inn Grand Chichibu Hotel in Saitama, Japan. From this activity students can experience the characteristics and work ethic in Japan, it can also be a great opportunity for students to be able to communicate directly with Japanese people and understand Japanese culture.

This 1-year internship program, which began on February 17, 2025, aims to provide hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of hotel operations and work systems. During the internship at the Route Inn Grand Chichibu Hotel, UNDIP students are responsible for housekeeping (guest room cleaning) and restaurant service during Choushoku (breakfast), these two activities depend on the shift schedule determined by the hotel. And the shifts that students get are that students must be on duty at the restaurant from 6 am to 1 pm and then continue with housekeeping until 3 pm, the internship activity lasts for 8 hours.

The internship program has been running for approximately seven months, during which time students have truly utilized this program to learn a wide range of things in the fields of hospitality, Japanese culture, and the Japanese language. Students are required to not only master Japanese but also to serve guests in English. This is very beneficial not only for their work but also for improving their language skills. In conclusion, this internship program is very helpful for students in many ways, such as gaining experience, improving skills, cultural exchange, and building their career paths.
