P2MD 2023: Opening Ceremony and Mentorship in Nongkosawit Village

The Applied Foreign Language Student Association (AFL SA) held an opening ceremony and mentorship for residents of the Nongkosawit Tourism Village at the Nongkosawit Village Hall on Monday, October 30 2023. This activity is one of a series of activities carried out by the student organization in the Village Community Empowerment Program (P2MD).

The opening ceremony began with remarks from Fitri Alfarisy, M.Hum. as the representative of the Applied Foreign Language program, Mr. Suwarsono as chairman of the Pokdarwis of Nongkosawit Village, and Mr. Al Choiri, S.H. as Head of Nongkosawit Village. The opening ceremony was marked by Mr Alfa cutting the tumpeng rice, accompanied by the bonang musical instrument by Sekar Fatinah as the head of the P2MD AFL SA team.

The event continued with mentoring and sharing activities on several themes, which included digital marketing of tourist villages, job prospects for tour guides, and SOPs for tour guides. In this session, experienced mentors conveyed steps that village community could take to increase the number of visits to Nongkosawit Tourism Village. The mentors for the session were Nur Laili Mardhiayni, M.I.Kom., Fitri Alfarisy, M.Hum., and Lenggahing Asri D.E.S., M.Pd.

This mentoring activity, which was attended by approximately 40 participants, went smoothly. Village residents who participated in mentoring activities gained many insights related to village development. This activity is an initial activity which will later be followed by several further activities to help develop this tourist village.
