Kukkie.co: The Result of Sahira Shafa’s Creativity & Hard Work

On Sunday, November 10, 2024 the Applied Foreign Language study program held a Sharing Session with Alumni. This activity was filled by an alumnus of the 2019 Applied Foreign Language study program, Sahira Shafa, who has a business called Kukkie.co.

Kukkie.co is a soft baked cookies business that Shafa has established since 2022. After graduating from college in 2023, Shafa worked as customer services and social media marketing in a company. However, she finally decided to resign and continue her cookie business because she felt that the income earned from her business was much more. Shafa said that when she started the Kukkie.co business, her initial capital was less than 500 thousand and as Gen Z she only utilized digital opportunities such as Instagram, TikTok, and Shopee to run her business. The way Shafa promotes her business is by making videos and then posting them on the TikTok platform and Instagram reels, as well as making quotes in the X application. It turns out that Shafa’s promotion paid off, because the videos and quotes made were busy, attracting customers, especially Diponegoro University students.

In 2022, the cookie business that Shafa ran experienced a decline because she had opened PO several times but no one ordered, did not have employees, the recipe kept changing, and she even thought about giving up. However, she tried to bounce back, so that in 2024 the business that Shafa was running began to bustle again and her cookie sales could reach 7,000 every month and she also had employees. Shafa’s clients are also schools and large companies such as SMAK Penabur Jakarta, LABS School Rawamangun, Prudential Sudirman, and the Directorate of Intellectual Property. With this, Shafa proved that a business run with a strong commitment can pay off.

At the end of this activity, there were several questions from 5th semester students which were certainly very varied and the answers given by Shafa were also very insightful. The conclusion drawn from this Sharing Session With Alumni activity is that everyone can become an entrepreneur as long as they are willing to learn new things and have commitment and not all entrepreneurs need large capital and adjust to their own passions, an entrepreneur is also a job that can be used as an option for future careers. It is hoped that after this activity takes place, it can make the younger generation to be able to think creatively and innovatively because as Gen Z has many opportunities for entrepreneurship in the digital era.

This activity was accompanied by two lecturers and six student committees and was carried out online. The theme presented in this activity is “Ready to Create, Ready to Be Independent, Ready to Be Entrepreneurial”. This activity aims to motivate 5th semester students to learn entrepreneurship and improve the entrepreneurial spirit, considering that in this day, entrepreneurship is very important in developing skills, and hence, will be able to help economic growth.
