The SDGs Digrow Motion Student Group successfully held a seminar titled “Education on the Use of English Digital Marketing to Create Resilient, Competitive, and Sustainable MSMEs” on Saturday, July 5, 2025. The event was held at the Horison Inn Antarwirya Hotel in Semarang and was attended by 10 SME representatives from various business sectors in the city. This event marks the first initiative organized by Digrow Motion to support the achievement of SDGs 1, 8, and 17.
The seminar was held to support the advancement of small and medium-sized businesses through the mastery of digital skills, particularly in using English as a communication and marketing tool. In today’s global era, the ability to market products digitally in an international language has become a highly valuable asset. The event was organized by seven Applied Foreign Language students and opened with a warm welcome from the Head of the Applied Foreign Language Program, Sriwahyu Istana Trahutami, M.Hum, and the event coordinator. The event continued with a presentation on the importance of digital marketing in English, delivered by Fakhri Marsa Nugraha, an undergraduate student majoring in Islamic Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University.
In addition to theory, participants were also invited to take part in a practical session on creating product promotion content in English, including writing Instagram captions and designing simple promotional materials. The SME entrepreneurs were highly enthusiastic throughout the sessions, with some even immediately applying the content to their business social media accounts. Through this seminar, it is hoped that local SMEs will gain greater confidence in expanding into broader markets and adapting to the challenges of global digital marketing. This event serves as a testament to the positive collaboration between the education sector and business practitioners in advancing the local economy.
