The Applied Foreign Language Students’ Association (AFL SA) has passed the Batch 2 2023 Village Community Empowerment (P2MD) Program selection. HM BAT is one of the 7 student organizations from Universitas Diponegoro that received funding for this P2MD activity as written in the letter Announcement of 2023 P2MD Program Funding Recipients Batch 2 dated 16 August 2023.

The selection for P2MD activities in 2023 was held several months ago. The selection interview held on May 12 2023 explored the activities proposed by each student organization. AFL SA team was led by Sekar Fatinah, a third-year student at the study program. The team proposed a program to be conducted in Nongkosawit Village, Gunungpati, Semarang. Some of their proposed programs include library revitalization and digital marketing for tourism potential in the tourist village. These two programs are expected to be able to empower village communities in the long term.

After being declared eligible as recipients of P2MD program grant, participants were asked to immediately start their activities from early September. Batch 2 grant recipients are required to be able to complete their activities in a shorter time than batch 1 grant recipients. All the recipients of batch 2 funding are required to complete their programs in December.

The P2MD activity is one of the steps taken by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to support the practice of the 5th precept of Pancasila. The village where the activity is carried out is expected to experience progress with the empowerment of human resources. In addition, this activity also supports the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education where students participate in community service activities. Students who are involved in this activity are expected to learn to live in and engage with the community.
